POTTER'S CHEW CONFESSIONS
HOLLYWOOD -- The first job Monica Potter sunk her teeth into when she arrived in Los Angeles four years ago was chewing gum.
"(French director) Luc Besson was shooting a gum commercial and he chose me as one of the chewers," recalls Potter, who'd modelled in Chicago and Miami before heading to Tinseltown.
"He was really great. I told him I wanted to be an actress and he helped me get an agent." Besson, who directed The Fifth Element, is currently shooting a new version of Joan of Arc starring his wife, model-turned-actress Milla Jovovich.
Potter, who stars as Robin Williams' girlfriend in Patch Adams -- opening Christmas Day -- says her most bizarre acting assignment was as a children's game-show host.
"The show was called Nubeleuz and it was aimed at children in Miami," says Potter.
"We shot it in Peru with Peruvian children who didn't speak or understand a word of English and who'd been dressed to look like American children.
"They had to learn their responses to our questions phonetically. It was a disaster. After the pilot, we never shot another episode."
Potter has another confession to make. Her favourite film this year was Bride of Chucky.
"I saw it three times. I absolutely love the movie. It's so funny. I'd love to be in a Chucky movie."
Chucky will have to wait to romance Potter.
She's been signed to play an FBI agent in Rocky & Bullwinkle.
